Mission Statement of St. Leo School

Our mission at St. Leo School is to develop a student’s love and service to

God and His people. We will quench their thirst for knowledge with education programs based on the Gospel of Christ.

Philosophy of St. Leo School

Our primary concern is to assist our children in realizing their high position as persons created in the image and likeness of God, their redemption by His Son, and their true purpose in life to attain eternal salvation through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

We believe that it is our obligation to:

  1. Inspire the children to a knowledge, love and service of God as their essential purpose in life.

  2. Impart knowledge and skills, while encouraging experimentation, creativity, and development of appreciative attitudes.

  3. Develop the intellectual potential of the child.

  4. Instruct each pupil so that he or she will become a practical Catholic with high morals and ideals, a good citizen, and a worthy member of society who will uphold the principles of Christian living.

  5. Employ up-to-date methods to cope with the demands of today’s society.

  6. Develop the talents of each child’s diverse learning style.

  7. Acknowledge the role of the parent as the most important person in the education of the child.

  8. Recognize the teacher as an influential person in the intellectual development of the student.

  9. Parallel the goals of modern education by continually striving for self-improvement.

  10. Promote worthwhile study habits and attitudes toward learning within each child.

With these ideals uppermost in the minds and hearts of the teachers, who are privileged to serve Christ through his children, we will reach our eternal salvation by molding the child’s character and mind to form Christ in each individual. Then we can say with Saint Paul of each child, “It is no longer I that lives, but Christ who lives in me.”
